Forty Years Ago…

By Anger Hangover

Otis Redding was killed in a plane crash on December 10, 1967. He was only 26 years-old.

That voice…there’s really not much else to say.

AH, I expect you and LF to do that dance when you come to the party on Friday. I hope you both have go-go boots.

  2. Sarah Says:

    I love the dancing girls.

Oh, I loooooove Otis Redding. I have several of his songs in heavy rotation on my iPod, and “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” makes saltwater jump up into my eye sockets every single time it plays. Breaks my heart that he was taken from the world so soon. Can you imagine how many dozens of amazing songs he would have made if he’d lived the long life he deserved? Between him and Patsy Cline, I can hardly stand it. Fecking planes.

AH: Exactly!!! Planes and truly talented singers/musicians – WTF?? Otis would still be doing it today if he were alive. Perhaps we wouldn’t have to deal with the Ushers and Justin Timberlakes of the world had Otis lived.
